When you have to go back and match a shot — weeks later, different location, maybe a different unit — this is what makes it possible. Frame line, focal length, camera height, distance from subject: the numbers that let someone rebuild your frame without you standing there.
Second unit lives on this sheet. So do pickups, which nobody plans for and everybody ends up shooting. A reference still is worth taking alongside the written note; the note tells you the geometry, the still tells you whether you actually got it.
