Room Tone & Wild Track Log
Free printable room tone and wild track log. Record type, duration, file number, purpose and noise floor for every location — US Letter PDF, no signup required.
Room tone is the thing everyone agrees is essential and half of sets still rush. A minute of the room, with the full crew standing still, at every location — because the editor needs it to patch under dialogue and there is no way to fake it convincingly afterwards.
The checklist on this sheet exists because the failure is always the same: tone captured with half the crew already loading the truck, so it isn't the same room any more. Wild lines get logged here too, and they're only useful if they're labelled with the scene and take they belong to.
What's on this sheet
