The DPR is the day's official record. It goes up to production and the financiers, and it answers one question in numbers: did we get what we said we'd get, and if not, what happened.
Pages scheduled against pages shot is the headline. Setups is the honest supporting number — a day can lose pages and still have been efficient, or gain them cheaply on a walk-and-talk. The delay log is where the day's minutes are accounted for by cause and department, which is exactly the record you want if a pattern starts forming across the week.
